Junction47

Working with Equity Residential, Junction47 was a two building project phased between interior and exterior artwork installations.

For the exterior artwork of Junction 47, Everett worked with the West Seattle Junction Association and the West Seattle Junction Neighborhood Organization (JuNO), among other local stakeholders.

Bradley Karvasek of Equity Residential commented that “Having the constant support of these local stakeholders and community organizations was paramount—their knowledge of the neighborhood and passion for creating something very special through sculpture art was a game-changer.”

Everett facilitated the process for the community to select West Seattle native Lezlie Jane and local Seattle artist Miguel Edwards to create 20+ exterior art pieces for the support columns of the building, wrapping the corner.

Lezlie Jane’s bronze panels tell the story of the West Seattle’s rich history.

The interior artwork was installed in two phases, aligning with the phased completion of each building. The first building featured an upcycled technology floral installation that spanned the lobby, and a custom mural with assemblage elements in the community room.

The second building, which was to be the permanent leasing office location featured a monumental custom woodwall and assemblage installation. The challenge of this large piece was to be primarily built offsite, and then installed within a panelized system.
